fuel ,changing tyres, wipers, light bulbs Try to position the car on level, firm ground . Put the handbrake on, leave the car in gear and switch the hazard flashers on . If you are on the slope , position a brick or similar objects close to each side of one of the other wheels to prevent movement.. Keep an eye on the other traffic and take care not to stand in front of your lights at night. Place the spare wheel , jack wheel brace ( spanner) near the tyre to be changed. Loosen the wheel nut slightly. If they are to tight you may need to use your foot and bodyweight on the lever. If you need to do this, support yourself. If your foot slips you could injure yourself Position the jack under a solid part of the vehicle, or locate it in the special jacking point shown in your cars handbook, and raise the vehicle The new tyre will need more ground clearance that the flat one. Allow for this when jacking up the car. Remove the loosened nuts and take off the wheel. Fit the new wheel and put one of the nuts on finger tight. Fit the other nuts and tighten them lightly with the brace. Remove the chocks and remember to put the tools and wheel in the boot before driving away. Check the pressure of the replacement tyre at the first opportunity
